Hieromonk Seraphim Rose

A portrait of the American-born writer and priest-monk. My primary goal was to capture his likeness by depicting spiritual quietude in his expression, rather than a hyper-realistic resemblance or photocopy. Completed with compressed charcoal sticks and a kneaded eraser.

Elder Ephraim of Arizona

Beloved founder of two Orthodox monasteries in North Carolina and many more across the United States. It was pertinent that I grew fond of his story shortly after moving to North Carolina. Completed with compressed charcoal sticks, a kneaded eraser, and a small amount of white paint for liveliness in the eyes.
